Enjoy the magical little bush hut situated just outside of Matakana. Nestled in the privately owned native bush, you will feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. This is without a doubt, my favourite place I have ever stayed. Upon arrival, there is a small walk through the bush (on a well guided track) to get to your sweet little abode. The bush hut has an abundance of things to offer, so you don’t even have to leave. My favourites include the cedar hot tub, which is located under the ancient Puriri tress, the outdoor bathroom with the Japanese wood bathtub and the projector screen so you can snuggle up and watch movies in bed. There is also a selection of vinyl for you to get lost listening to.

If you want to venture away from the hut there are a variety of options! You could visit the local farmers market, visit Omaha beach and have a picnic on the golden sand or have lunch at a number of different wineries – there are plenty of options to suit whatever you’re in to.

When you arrive, you’ll be shown to the charming little hut by your lovely hosts. They will then leave you to your privacy. Plan My Date will have a beautiful afternoon platter for your arrival. We will also supply a sweet treat bundle, to enjoy whilst cosying up in front of the outdoor (or indoor) fireplace later in the evenings. We also ADORE the Japanese bath so will include a romantic bath kit so you can unwind while listening to the chatter of the Tui’s, Kereru and Moreporks.
